I am a priest of the Diocese of Spokane (Washington State), now retired and making use of my retirement blessings to serve the Catholic Community of Cuenca. 

I am available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, home visits, or spiritual counsel.

Fr. Joffre Astudillo

Pastor of Iglesia San Francisco

Padre Joffre is a priest of the Archdiocese of Cuenca and has served as pastor of the Iglesia de San Francisco since January 2024. He considers the San Francisco Parish to be greatly blessed in welcoming the English-speaking Catholic community into its church family; it is a blessing to offer a spiritual home in our magnificent church to our expat Catholic neighbors. 

Padre Joffre's English-language skills are limited, but he is more than happy to be of service to all in any way he can.
